The official publications of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus

The journal “Archives and Records Management” was established on April 7, 1998, by a decision of the founding assembly, which included the State Committee on Archives and Records Management of the Republic of Belarus, the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, and the Belarusian Research Institute of Document Science and Archival Affairs.

The first issue of the journal was signed for print on March 5, 1999.

On December 7, 2000, the institution “Editorial Office of the Journal ‘Archives and Records Management’” was registered in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities and Individual Entrepreneurs as a non-profit organization. Since November 18, 2002, the sole founder of the journal has been the Committee on Archives and Records Management under the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus.

Since 2006, the journal “Archives and Records Management” has been the official printed publication of the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus.

In accordance with Order No. 171 “On Reorganization” issued by the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Belarus on November 11, 2025, on January 5, 2026, the institution “Editorial Office of the Journal ‘Justice of Belarus’” was reorganized through the merger with the institution “Editorial Office of the Journal ‘Archives and Records Management’.” The rights and obligations of the founder of the mass media outlet of the journal “Archives and Records Management” were transferred from the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice to the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus.

According to the agreement on the editorial office of a mass media outlet dated January 5, 2026, No. 2, the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus assigned to the institution “Editorial Office of the Journal ‘Justice of Belarus’” the functions of the editorial offices of the mass media — the journals “Justice of Belarus” and “Archives and Records Management.”

The journal “Archives and Records Management” is included in the national subscription catalog and in the List of scientific publications of the Republic of Belarus approved by the Higher Attestation Commission for publishing dissertation research results.

The publication contains practical recommendations from leading specialists of the Department of Archives and Records Management, the Belarusian Research Institute of Document Science and Archival Affairs, state archival institutions, republican ministries and agencies, as well as lecturers of the Department of Source Studies of the Faculty of History of the Belarusian State University on documentation, distribution, processing, accounting, analysis, submission rules for state storage, and archival preservation of industrial, personnel, scientific, technical, and other documentation.

The journal’s pages cover events in the field of archival science and records management and publish materials on archival studies, archaeography, heraldry, and genealogy.

The journal is included in the national subscription catalog. It is published once every two months. The circulation exceeds 600 copies.
